Meanwhile, the cabin of the cable car has been given shape. The appearance of the cable car is inspired by “Ol Grait”, the steam tram that ran more than half a century ago between Delfzijl and Ter Apel. For example, the running and driving wheels will be reminiscent of the wheels of a steam tram or train. Curved shapes, long windows with rounded corners and drive by means of a drive rod are further references to the “steam era”.

A logo of the Ruiten Aa channel is included in the sheet metal of the gondola. This consists of two A’s which together with triangles form two diamonds. In this way “Ruiten AA” is displayed visually.
